After his graduation, he started his career in a telecommunications company before finding his passion for movies. He created a few short films and joined the show Naalaya Iyakunar, a talent show for young filmmakers. He did his directional debut with Pannaiyarum Padminiyum with Vijay Sethupathi as the lead actor. Arun is the director of Siddharth‘s family drama Chittha.
