Maidaan is the latest sports drama written and directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma of Badhaai Ho fame. It is being produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta under Zee Studios’ presentation. The film features Ajay Devgn and Priyamani in the lead role. Maidaan tells the story of the Golden Era Of Indian Football. The screenplay and dialogue were penned by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shaw. It is said to be a biopic of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.
Story
The Indian football team won a Gold at the 1962 Asian Games in Jakarta and reached the semi-finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics when Syed was the coach.
Maidaan will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The film will hit screens on 23 June 2023.
