VA Durai is a producer and industrialist who mostly works in the Tamil film industry. He began his film career as an associate with producer AM Ratnam. Later he started his own production house Evergreen International. Durai worked with several actors such as Rajini, Vikram, Suriya, Vijayakanth, Sathyaraj, and others. His film Pithamagan was a blockbuster hit and bagged National Awards. He made the headline after actor Suriya offered him a sum of 2 Lakh rupees for his treatment.

Durai is currently fighting diabetes, and his health condition was deteriorating due to severe complications. He stays as a refugee in a friend’s home in Saligramam. According to reports, MLA and Actor Karunas also offered Rs. 50,000 to the producer for the treatment.
