Vetrimaaran is an Indian director, screen writer, and a film producer who works mainly in the Tamil film industry. As of 2016, Vetrimaaran has won 4 National awards and one Filmfare award. He made his directional debut through the movie Polladhavan which was critically acclaimed. The movie got released in the year 2007 and since then Vetrimaran has given many good films for the Kollywood industry. In Viduthalai Vijay Sethupathi’s son, Surya made a cameo appearance. As per reports, Vetrimaaran is teaming up with Jr NTR and Dhanush for a Pan-India film.

- Initially, Vetrimaran worked as an assistant to director Balu Mahendra.
- Vetrimaran used to read 40 to 50 novels a week and help Balu Mahendra to choose few interesting scenes. After working hard, he was able to narrate a story to Dhanush and he named the story as Desiya Nedunchaalai 47 but there were plenty of issues going on in this movie.
- Later they chose the movie Polladavan which was a commercial hit and was able to collect more than Vijay’s Alagiya Thamizh Magan and Suriya’s Vel.
- Apart from being a successful film writer and director, he is also a successful producer. The movies he has produced has won many awards. His second movie Aadukalam was a masterpiece and he won his first national award for the movie.
- His third movie as a director was Visaaranai which has won many awards and it is also nominated for the academy awards as well.
