Eniyavan is popularly known as Idly Iniyavan or Idli Man. He is known for selling more than 2,000 varieties of Idly. With his talents, he marked March 30th as World Idli Day. He worked as a cleaner in a hotel and as an auto driver before becoming an idly vendor. He used to work two part-time jobs a day. Iniyavan started selling idli for a local vendor who had a wholesale idli business.
To boost his business, he moved from Coimbatore to Chennai with two idli streamers. With hard work and consistency, Iniyavan owns a restaurant called Mallippo Idli in Chennai. He also created several new varieties of idly to attract customers. His popular varieties are Coconut idly, Chocolate idly, Chutney Stuffed idly, Chocolate idly, Orange idly, and Con idly. In addition, he sells unique idli varieties Mickey Mouse idli, Kung Fu Panda idli, and more.
